I ordered a MBP on 29th Oct (I've never felt so dirty buying a new computer in all my life - a very weird feeling).

Said "Ships 3-4 weeks". It said that when I clicked the buy button.

It still says "Ships 3-4 weeks" in the my orders part of apple.com website.

3-4 weeks is 19th November to 26th November.

The apple.com site says "Delivers 28 Nov - 5 Dec by Standard Shipping" in my account area.

I don't know where you are, but there's something going on. My delivery just went from 6-12 Dec to 7-13 Dec overnight :-/

No idea why...and I don't like the sound of it...

Ships from china, it seems they have the biggest pre-order demand for MacBooks ever so don't be surprised.

The 3-4 weeks estimate is for when it will ship out, not deliver by. They are estimating it could take about a week after it ships to be delivered.

So it's technically, ships in 3-4 weeks, delivers in 4-5 weeks.

However, there is a very good chance most of us will recieve our orders well before the estimated delivery date windows. :)

Ordered On 27 October 2016
Processing Items. Pickup: Ships to store. Available 24 Nov

I'm in London, nothing has changed for me... yet.

I'm in UK. 9 days from ship to delivery? Doesn't seem right.
I was under the same impression back in 2013, as I placed my order for the MBP I still own.
I sent in the order on the 5th of november, it was shipped on the 8th and was delivered to me in Switzerland on the 16th.
Not far off from your case!
