This is why the UK needs to secede from the European Union and join the former Colonies as the 51st state. :) (Among other reasons...)
Do you want the average IQ of your population to drop by about 10-20 points? :)

P.S.: It LOOKS like the deal has expired.
Whew... bye bye temptation!

Well, I guess I just made it before it expired. I still can't believe I ordered one. Now, how to hide it from the wife???
Uh oh! I hope it wasn't my assistance in rationalising your purchase that pushed you over the edge.

I'm good at that, I can help you rationalise any decision you want to make but feel you shouldn't. It's a gift. :D

In the immortal words of Chandler Bing, "Whupppp-ah!"

Why on earth would you buy this if you have to hide it from your wife? ;)

Indeed it is all over. Man, I ordered mine just in time I guess. At the moment I'm trying to burn a video to DVD on this crap windows OS machine and it will not work!!! Grrr.. Oh well, at least I have my monitor to look forward to :)

Because it's not a very practical thing to do at the moment. We just had a baby and my wife wont be working for a little while to take care of the baby so purchasing a monitor when I have a 17 inch Sony LCD isn't very smart plus I told her to limit her expenses and I just spent about 3 thousand dollars in the last two weeks for medical bills, underpaid taxes, repairs, insurance, etc. So the plan is I'll have the Dell LCD delivered at work, hide it somewhere in the house, sell the Sony, then take out the Dell....

Well, you didn't exactly push me over the edge maybe you nudged a little bit :) I just couldn't resist the deal. BTW, how well does the Mac Mini run the Dell LCD? Because I think I'll be getting that or a single 1.8 PM in a couple of months. The Mac Mini is a lot smaller so it'll be easier to hide. :D

You and I are in the same boat on that one. The Mac Mini will run the display beautifully since the mini uses a DVI port. The PM would obviously run it as well and would be much faster depending on the type of work you are planning to do. I am looking into getting a Mac desktop over the summer sometime when I get my car issues resolved and it will probably be a PM. I just wish they would be updated more since the “specs” on my PC blow the PMs away. OS X is just so much better that in the end a minor loss in speed is worth it. I, too, could not resist the price of that display ;)

My mini pushes the 2001FP beautifully. No problems at all, despite the lackluster 32MB 9200. I only game on my PC and just do photo editing and eventually I might do a little video editing, nothing serious though. The Mac mini is tiny, it would be easy to hide. You could gut your old PC and easily hide it in the old PC case! :)

I've been in too many purchase threads lately gets me itching for a PM even though I just got my mini and it suits my needs perfectly. Funny, how many things we want that we don't actually need.

Enjoy your monitor, it'll be great!

Frustrating...I bought my 1905FP a week ago for $299 (still a good deal). I must say, I'm amazed by this screen. If you're looking for an LCD, Dell's are really incredible, plus the prices are insane. Talk about a win-win situation...

I wouldn't worry about it too much. $299 for the 1905FP is a very good deal. The 2005FW is only an inch larger and since it is 16:10 you get very little if any more screen area. (too lazy to do the actual calculations) Besides the 1905FP got rave reviews.

Yeah, I had the opportunity to get the 2005FPW for $460, but went specifically for the 1905FP because I wanted something with a lower DPI. My eyes aren't as good as they once were...

As much as I generally don't like Dell, I have to give them full props. The 2005FPW that I ordered just yesterday afternoon has already arrived! I guess it doesn't hurt that I only live about 200 miles or so from Round Rock, but still, that is amazing service. I even got free ground shipping and it still arrived that fast. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Nice job Dell! (and I never thought I'd ever utter those words) :p

Yeah, the computer I ordered from them a few weeks ago (only a temp as I save up for a PM don't panic haha) came in one day as well. Simply amazing. Also, Dell has a much better customer service policy about dead pixels and DOA products than Apple (I know this all too well...). Too bad their computers run windows  haha

This was my first ever experience with Dell and obviously it was stellar, but I definitely won't be buying any computers from them though. :) And yeah, based on a couple of the experiences I've had with Apple's service before, I know exactly what you mean. Generally they do a good job, but I've never had service as good from them as this particular purchase was from Dell.

9LRWGD0NFZD9B THis code doesn't work though. I thought it expired 4-27?
Also, what is DPA?

The reason it doesn't work is it expired because it was limited to 2,000 uses. That's how the good deals with Dell usually work. Only a few people get them. Usually the coupons for money off, not a percentage, they expire within a day of being released. There will be another coupon though, probably this week ...

I don't know what DPA.

I was just checking out the deals at Dell and saw that they had the Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor for only $999, which isn't a bad deal. I might pick one up for my dad or I might give him my 23" Cinema Display and get the 30"...but that might be a little much for what I need.

Here is the link for the Dell 24" http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...8&cs=04&l=en&mnf=694&Page=productlisting.aspx

It there not a single coupon that can be applied to that?

DPA is for Dell Preferred Account. It is Dell's credit line that can be used to finance purchases. On large items it is worth it to sign up, pay that way, and then cancel it.
