and on top of that a 3 year warranty (which i had to use in the past.)

A long time ago I had 2 20" Dell displays, one went bad and they shipped me a new (refurb'd) one a couple of days later and asked me to put the defective on in the pre paid box back "within a couple of weeks".

that's service.

Guys, let us not forget the UP2414Q fiasco too quickly, at least not until everyone's happy with his P2415Q.

Mine is set to arrive tomorrow as is many others I have seen reported for those of us in the United States. I'll be sure to report in on my experience. Exciting stuff!

P2715q

Hey all,

I just got this monitor and plugged it in and it works on my MacPro 2010 running a GTX 780 3072 MB. I had to manually set the resolution to 3200 x 1800.

Still playing with it.

I'd love some confirmation if anybody has this setup:

Can a Macbook Pro 15" mid 2014 drive one of these monitors and a 2560x1440 display both hooked up via miniDisplayport to Displayport?

Same set up as mine. Looking forward to this as well. It should be noted that I have the INVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB GDDR5 memory

Not sure how / if it would work with the low end model which has Intel Iris Pro Graphics.

Share some thoughts... here are my questions...
- What's the fit/finish like?
- What's the anti-glare coating like?
- What's the brightness like?
- What's the color like?
- How does the sharpness look at 3200x1800 vs 2560x1440 vs Native?
- How long is the included DP cable?
- How does it work in portrait?

Here's my initial impressions:

- The style and finish is your typical Dell design....boring, etc.
- Anti-glare coating is good. No where near as glossy as the 27-inch Cinema Display.
- Brightness on this display is amazing. I currently have it on "Game" mode and it's brighter than my old 27-inch Cinema.
- Colors are excellent. It looks and feels like an Apple monitor. Extremely surprised.
- Everything is super crisp. I have a Retina MBp and immediately noticed everything was sharp.
- The included DP cable is about 6 feet long. Again, another please surprise.

Thanks for the feedback, seems like a good monitor and a great value

damn it i missed my delivery, came home at 2pm and saw the ups first attempt notice, did anyone else get theirs yet? if so. POST SOME PICS AND FIRST IMPRESSION!

P2415Q Arrived Today

Pretty boring design - but smaller and lighter than my previous U2711.

Easy to setup - running @60Gz from PNY 680GTX (2Gb - unflashed) on a MacPro 5.1 8-code - came supplied with DP and USB cables long enough for my needs.

Running @ native - 3840x2160 - text is small but very usable.

Display quality great - not sure it's quite as good as my MBP but that may be the matt effect at work.

Anyhow, the real reason I picked this up is to get some good screen estate for Xcode development - and here's a screenshot to show what can be displayed (note this isn't even full screen) - I've put the code into normal presentation mode but I think I'd normally use smaller when I've got to grips with things. That storyboard is shown normal size not zoomed out.

Not bad for the price - I think it will make development a little easier.

Got mine in. Looks great. 4K in Windows works surprisingly well with interface scaling at 150%. I was especially surprised since I had heard Windows scaling sucks hard.

I am running the display at 2560x1440 on OS X. All elements are ever-so-slightly soft, but the added effective resolution over my previous screen is very nice.

On colors, whites are great, and the overall reproduction seems better than my 2408W which is an Ultrasharp.

The display is super fast when switching inputs and responding to signal.

I can't think of any negatives really. Seems like a killer display.

At that resolution, how would you describe black text (small font size: 11,13 ) on a white background (web pages, text editors etc.)

blurry or sharp or something in-between.

It's certainly not fuzzy, and in fact, it looks better than text on my 1920x1200 24" screen, but the text at native res in Windows looks noticeably sharper.

I will be using it like this daily, and I have no problem with it.

Just ordered a P2715Q here in the UK for £535 inc VAT. That's £100 less than the Dell site.

It was on the Amazon.co.uk site for £599 but Amazon wasn't the seller. So I went to the seller's site and there it was in all its extra discounted glory.

Hope this helps someone.

While I'm not a big fan of reflections, I like as little as possible between me and the pixels so I like plain glass even if it means it's gloss. I'd rather control the lighting. I'm really hoping this coating isn't too noticeable when the monitor is in use. I get the sense from your comments that you find the color, saturation, brightness and contrast on par with the 27" ACD... are you saying even with the anti-glare coating it's as good or better in those areas? If so, that's a pleasant surprise for me but it's been awhile since I've owned a Dell display. The last Dell I had was like looking through a ladies nylon at the screen... the anti-glare was horribly distracting.
