That's too bad, 0906742. I've been considering getting that exact monitor to replace my QHD 25.5" Dell and I get way too easily distracted by poor uniformity. Unfortunately, LCD panels tend to be a wild lottery. Even the $5k Pro XDR has well known issues.

Are you pretty happy with U2720Q otherwise?

Not happy with U2720Q. I ended up returning them. Price and quality just do not meet in this model IMHO. If it would cost half that would be fair if you can ignore features like this. I find that magenta to green tint hideous. I think S2721QS could be interesting choice. Rtings seem to recommed that model instead of U2720Q. Where I live you get 2 x S2721QS cheaper than one U2720Q and still some change left to almost get colorimeter too.

Anyway I ended up ordering LG 32UN880-B 32” 4K Ultrafine. It was also cheaper than U2720Q

Shame. Touch wood I haven’t yet noticed any issues with mine, but it’s definitely always a risk with any monitor or TV.

Yeah I know and that is why I even tried two but obviously since both had more or less the same problem I though no reason to try anymore. With my current Dell I went thru like half dozen units also all more or less the same problem (was with backlight bleed) and that just made me clear it was not going to get better by trying more than two.
However I'm now back using my old 25" QHD Dell while waiting for my 32" LG to arrive and I must say this have been revealing experience, this old monitor just looks so clean after U720Q because this one has excellent uniformity in situations like in the picture I posted of U2720Qs I had.

By the way, what revision your Dell is? Mine both were Rev A10. It reads on the box it came and on the serial number sticker on the backside of the monitor (it is there just last three digits after S/N after dash).

Interesting. Have you checked any test patterns like the one I posted photo of? Or in my both U2720Qs I could see this problem with web pages like this forum when browser windows size was so wide that you have white borders left and right and then compare sides. It was obvious to me but I'm pretty sensitive to this issue. My U2518D is free from this problem.

I haven’t but if I remember I will have a look the next time I’m using it. It’s very possible mine is the same as yours but the content I use it for just doesn’t highlight it. To be honest I probably shouldn’t go looking for problems since I’m still really happy with it. But as I think I mentioned previously, I dont use it for movies or content creation.

I don’t use mine for movies either much at all. I practically see issues like this when ever there is solid white or light gray on both side. Like just opening google.com or browse this forum with browser in full screen mode. Also that ”tree” test image is fast test to check this issue.

I'm also comparing Dell monitors and this comparison speaks in favour of S2721QS regarding contrast, brightness, viewing angles, black uniformity, gradient, reflections, motion blur, refresh rate and variable sync.
