great monitor. upgrade from U2410 i had before.
connected with display port cable to 2012 MBP.

the problem, when i turn the display off, the mac won't recognize that:
- still runs on the faster GPU instead of Intel integrated
- applications that i use on the display won't move automatically to laptop screen
- laptop it behaves as if the display is still on

sucks. anyone experiencing the same ? any workaround ? except pulling the display cable out ?

you have to disconnect it... maybe 3rd party software like switchresx will allow you to disable a display though

Macs have always worked this way, and I don't think Windows works any differently. You have to disconnect the display for the system to behave as if the display isn't there.

no. U2410 worked as i would expect. turn it off would also trigger the laptop, switching off the display and behave as no monitor is connected.

this is not orking with the U2713HM - i need to pull the display port cable

Well that's odd. I have a bunch of U2410s I support. None of them work the way yours does.
