At work I am using dual monitor setup with a Dell desktop, and would like to get back to the Apple ecosystem at work.

Would these monitors function with the the M2 Pro?

Thanks for any technical guidance or experience you may have.

monitor model numbers would be more useful than those screenshots.

anyway, my M2 pro is very happy with my new dell monitor. if it's a recent model you're looking at, you should be fine. & you can always go to amazon and search reviews for 'mac' compatibility, or chat with dell on their site.

A Mini should quite readily work with that through HDMI. If it is not a 4K monitor it might not look the best due to MacOS quirks but it will work. If it is 4K it’ll look fine.

Good point they are the U2719D. I bought them in Jan 2021 so old (?) for technology?

Resolution: 2560X1440 @ 60 hz -- perhaps this would be reason to upgrade?
Have aging eyes so any advice appreciated.

Can someone translate this on the tech specs? Is this the same as "nits" ??
"Brightness 350 cd/m2 (typical)"

Thank you for the feedback, very much appreciate the collective wisdom of the forum.

2021? should be fine. try it before you replace it. 350 nits is reasonable (by comparison, the M2 air is 500 nits)

It should work. You'll need a thunderbolt to display port adapter to hook up 2 monitors

Be aware that Mac doesn't do scaling like Windows does. If you are running the monitors at their native resolution and 100% scaling on Windows, you should be ok. Otherwise, depending on your eyes, you may find 1440p too small by default. In which case, you can use an app called betterdisplay to create some custom scaled resolutions. It's one of those things you'll have to try yourself to know.

I have an M2 Air hooked into an older Dell Ultrasharp (P2719H). Works, and is okay for general purpose home stuff. But the monitor is 1080 not 4K so the image quality not quite optimal (coz Apple, something something...).

Get 4K if optimal image quality matters.

That said, read on...

i (purposely) have a 2K monitor (works well for me with logic), and it's a dell, thru HDMI, and it's fine...
Not for me. I switched from a 2012 Mini to the M2 Air, and the first thing I noticed was the external screen looked slightly different, slightly fuzzier for want of a better word. Still worked okay for general home use, but it was definitely noticeable when reading text.

Installing Better Display improved it a lot. (Make sure you select the HiDPi option in the resolution settings.) Looking much better now. :)

Should work well for a 1440 screen too.

Was planning to go 4K later this year anyway, but BetterDisplay is still worth every penny of that $20 (USD) to cover me until then.

Thanks for the thoughts.

I am used to working with two side by side 27 inch monitors, but in reading the posts and looking online, it seems that I could do much better for eyesight, clarity, readability than the resolution of the monitors I have now.

Since I want a lot of real estate, how would the following be paired with a M2 Mini Pro?

Overpriced? Any experience with this monitor? What do you think of the brightness spec:
  • Brightness 300cd (Typ)/240cd (Min)
Can someone translate this into English?

Thanks again,

I have two Dell 27 inch 2k monitors, with iMac Pro (Hackintosh) and Mac Mini m1.
Both are working just great.
BTW Ultrasharp moniker has nothing to do with screen quality, it is about stand quality.

That is incorrect. I believe the Ultrasharp moniker refers to their higher resolution displays - 1440p and up.
