Dell's new software to put your iphone or android on your pc

It's about time Dell does something creative. God knows they have acquired a bunch of talent with the EMC purchase.
 
On iPhones, you'll be able to see and reply to incoming calls and messages, but receiving alerts from other apps like Facebook and Whatsapp is limited to Android.

How are they able to do this? I assume you won't be able to use iMessage?
 
I think its odd they talk about this having more "interoperabiilty" than other solutions, but I believe it requires a Dell laptop. Samsung already has a fairly good solution that does similar things with Samsung devices. But I don't think anyone except Microsoft is really going to solve this, and they are well on their way to doing so.
 
I didnt know MS was working on something similar, that is great and makes sense. It should be made into Windows, I really hope Chrome OS gets something similar as well because I prefer using that

As much as I appreciate advances like great cameras and GPS on current smartphones, there are still things that those older phones could do that is not possible with new ones.

Back-in-the-day(tm), when I would travel cross-country, I'd take only my Audiovox SMT5600 smartphone, BT keyboard, and stand as my only computing device... taking notes, working on documents, video, music... back when my eyesight was better. 😀
