PSA: Do not buy a 4k 27 inch display. The only display size that is appropriate for 4K is around 21".
PSA: Do not listen to Mac owners for advice on a gaming monitor. Windows at 4K at 32" is beautiful. Windows is just so much better with the font scaling that it doesn't need "retina" and no GPU should be pushing 5K or 6K. It's a waste of money and won't get you the FPS you need. I own the AW3225QF and it is one of the best monitors you can get for gaming, but if I was shopping today, I would wait for the ASUS RGB stripe monitors.

If you want a retina display for the deskop, keep this in mind:
  • 21.5” 4K (204 PPI)
  • 27” 5K (218 PPI)
  • 31.5” 6K (219 PPI)
Thank you so much for this clearly stated information.

What is the domain of this site called, again?

My work "makes" me use a Dell. So I had them buy me a U2725QE for my WFH setup. It is a fantastic monitor.
Do you have any issues with coil whine?
I have 4 edit suites fitted with the U2723QE which is great, but the 2 rooms with U2725QE have intermittent coil whine issues.

You know, I used to be a fan of Dell. Now however, I can't stand Dell because they've adopted Apple's ridiculous Apple Silicon naming conventions for their laptops but 10x worse!

Dell Plus
Dell Premium
Dell Pro
Dell Pro Plus
Del Pro Premium
Dell Pro Max
Dell Pro Max Plus
Dell Pro Max Premium
... then they have a laptop called "Dell 14 Laptop". WTF?

I start looking and just get deterred trying to figure it all out. I shake my head and close the window.

The marketing team at Dell must be on crack or incredibly dumb. Needless to say they were paid far too much.
