At least the mother-in-law and wife were okay. In the end, it's a stupid computer... I would rather hear, "I am glad you're okay and it's just a computer" from my spouse than "I told you so, you're lazy, and because of your laziness, we're out a bunch of money!"
Guys--honestly, who gives a crap about the guy's mother-in-law spilling a bit of water?
I swear this is the most PG13 forum/lives I've ever been a part of.![]()
-My mother in law lost her balance a little bit, and tipped the water. She's fit and healthy. The plastic cup she was holding never even left her hand. She was NEVER in any danger of actually falling.
-The water was not made of acid, so there was no danger that the little bit that might have touched my wife would burn through her skin an cause permandent damage.
You make it sound like we just lived through a plane crash and should all be thanking our lucky stars we're all still alive.
This was a common everyday little spill of water. It happens - All. The. Time.
Trust me, it does in our house, we have an 8-year-old daughter.
So, given that little accidents like that can, and do happen all the time, I urged my wife to not leave the laptop on a low table, unattended with the lid open!
Instead, the common, everyday spill of water cost me $700+ dollars.
Now, if you're so rich that every time a common everyday little mistake can cost you $700 and you don't mind, then fine. But I'm not. Especially when I warned my wife about it, and it could have been so easily prevented.
Agreed.
But Scottsdale jumped all over me for my first post, and continues to do so, so I felt I should respond.
Watching internet fights is like watching retarded monkeys throw poo at each other. It accomplishes absolutely nothing, but it sure is fun to sit back and watch.

No, this site surely isn't a marriage counseling advice center. However, people do interact here, and I believe it's disrespectful to talk about people in such a way whether it is or isn't the topic of this site. <other witless blathering deleted>
I am not continuing to be "all over you." Come on, you're the one who is blowing it out of proportion. You called your wife lazy and blamed her for being out $700 over a little spilled water, ON A PUBLIC FORUM
And you're being a know-it all knob. How dare you offer any comment whatsoever on someone else's marriage!
The arrogance of some people is just astonishing.
