As great as this is, sadly it isn't going to be much use for me at home because my nearest station is useless - it's not connected to other public transport, and only the slowest trains stop there - so I always go to the next nearest station. Could there be a way to set a Home station at all?

Edit - just seen you can pick from the nearest stations on the watch app itself, so that's cool :)

Yes, you can already do that!

To keep that core app simple, with no settings, I decided to do it using a URL scheme.

Details of the URL scheme can be seen in the FAQ.

I have also just made you a little video showcasing the power of the URL scheme, I hope it is useful (my first narration too; sorry if its a bit meandering!).

This is a little complicated, but URL schemes are super powerful once setup! :) If you need help, email me, pm or tweet me!

I need the ability to manually choose my Favourite stations on the iPhone which would show up on the WATCH as well. Otherwise the app is great!

I am planning on adding this to the next update. Can I ask how you can see yourself using this?

Update of road map.

I have been brainstorming over the weekend and reviewing user feedback. I have planned the features for the next major version (1.1):
- Favourite Stations:
-- Allow quicker selection from the Station list on iOS
-- Use force touch menu of Apple Watch to toggle between local and favourite stations on Apple Watch App.
- Filter by calling point:
-- Specify your calling points, so only trains going to that destination will show up; perfect for busy stations.
-- This maybe via URL scheme only to simplifiy UI at first.
- Tag your train:
-- Tag the train your are getting on.
-- Get notified if it is going to be late.
-- See what time you arrive at the next station.
-- All of this infomation in the Apple Watch Glance.

All these features will only be available with Premium Features In-app purchase.

Any thought, comments, questions about this?

As soon as I get my watch, I'll be getting this app - it sounds invaluable for someone who uses trains a lot like me :)

Just downloaded and looks a great app. Simple and down to the point which is whats needed for this type of app.

Will give it a try over the next couple of days and will purchase if its what im looking for to support you.

OP do you have a twitter account or FB page to follow for updates etc?

These all sound great and will be very useful additions, especially the 'tag and track' feature. Look forward to that.

Keep up the good work.

I'd like to try.

Just updated and this new feature is brilliant:

'Added ability to filter by calling point - i.e. only show trains calling at a certain station. Perfect for busy stations. Hint: the filters can be included in favourites too. This is a Premium Feature.'

Exactly what it needed. Now I can open the glance and it shows all trains that stop at my destination. Thank you!

Great little app the UI is straight forward to use and quick to load. Also much better value than the Network Rail app. well done. I've submitted a review on iTunes app store.

Thanks Skylined69. Very much appreciated.

I'd love to hear any feedback that anyone has.

thanks for this. Just one thing.....I am having some problems I f I launch the app on my iPhone it says
error the certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to server that is pretending to be "lite.realtime.nationalrail.co.uk" Which could put your confidential information at risk.

Plus I can't seem to add favourites. I press on the little star and I don't get a list of stations to add

Cheers

Hi Joe,

The data feed issue is on the National Rail Enquires end and out of my control. I hope it will be rectified soon. For app and outage updates follow us: @departboard.

The favourite button marks the currently loaded board as a favourite, as the feed is down and no board can be loaded the favourite button won't work.

Apologies for the inconvenience,

Daniel Breslan

Thanks Gav, App Store reviews are essential, if you have time to leave one it would be much appreciated.
It's broken today but I did leave a review mate

I am starting work toward 2.0 for iOS 9.

Anyone interested in beta testing? iOS 8 devices are acceptable! :)
