I’m not interested in “showing off” my new iPhone for all to see because no one cares. People never come up to me and ask “dude, is that the new iPhone 16 pro max”? Is it awesome? Just enjoy the iPhone for yourself.
Have you ever considered that they might want to use the phone without a case because they personally enjoy its beautiful appearance? It's quite strange to assume that people want to show it off to others. We pay a lot of money for these devices, and for many, one important reason is the beautiful design and premium materials.

Yeah, I’ve considered that and I mentioned it in another post. Whether it has a case or not, it’s still gonna get dropped and scratched, and the money that they paid for this high dollar device is going to be a scratched high dollar device. I take my case off my phone when I get home from work and admire it like you said, but I would never carry it in my daily routine without a case. I have the 1TB model, two of them actually and I want to protect my investment. Have a good day.

Really? I don’t admire personally a phone, and it surprises me that anyone would actually take off the case and admire it after work. I leave mine on 24 hours a day. I guess each their own.

You can get transparent phone cases so you can show off without smashing your phone you know?

Why would anyone want to show off a phone? I get that it happens but why? It’s just a phone that will be worth almost nothing after a few years oh and they’re probably on a 36 months installment plan.

I haven’t dropped my phone since iPhone 4, the last time I had a scratched screen was when I fell off a bike and my phone screen was in my pocket and screen facing outside. After that, not a single scratch in 14 years of using iPhones.
Having said that, I still get a case every year for when I’m hiking or something that’s way riskier than your average day. The case immediately comes off the moment I come back home, cases are just too hideous to have them on 24/7.

How did you manage to get the $99 fee waived? Just depends on the Specialist or is it because they were just released?

There was a time I had my MacBook Air on my bed and tossed my phone next to it, it bounced and smashed my laptop screen. An associate at the Apple Store waived the repair fee without me even asking.

I agree, but seriously, who needs a case when you can parade your iPhone around and shout, 'Looky what I got, a brand spanking new desert titanium iPhone 16 pro, aren't I special?!'

I took my new iPhone 16 Pro to a wedding this weekend (did not have the time to buy a case yet) and people asked if they can compare the cameras to theirs and after taking photos it was like "hmmm I cant really see a difference. Thank you though"

LOL (neither could I to be honest)

People are more intrigued to try out my Fold.

I've got zero beef with anyone rocking an au naturel iPhone, no case, no tempered glass - they're the ultimate rebels.
I don’t use a case, but screen protector is the must for me.
I dropped my iPhone 13 Pro Max like dozens of times at home and office, and few times on the street, and have broken more than 10 screen protectors, but device doesn’t have any dents (the frame has some scratches and that’s it), back glass and cameras are perfectly fine.

But some reviews of 16PM let me think that it might not be as firm as 13PM.

Ugh down goes the 16 pro max desert titanium and the camera looks to have A puncture! Thankfully a very nice representative at Apple waived the $99 fee and will express replace. Everyone be careful with these slippery little suckers!
ALL Apple phones slippery historically and presently. I always required a case.

Oh, that's bad luck. Spigen clear light silicone cases come with pop on cam protector. ESR cases come with a little hinged stand that also gives a couple mm of space so the cams will not hit the ground.

Always want to do it myself - they look so damn crisp and nice, but after 10 minutes and already feeling my nerves cracking I put on a cover again :D

What a silly assumption to make.... People who don't use a case do so because they don't like the added bulk. Everyone and their mother has an iphone these days... heck I see homeless people in NYC with iphones, and they all pretty much look the same... So nobody is waving their phone around to show off that they have the latest.... Most people walking around won't know the difference between a 12 pro and a 16 pro.

My case comes off every few weeks, when I take the time to clean it up and wipe the accumulated dust/grit off my phone. Other than that, it's on the phone 24/7.

I have an esr kickstand case just don’t use it much. On the upgrade program so the phone gets traded every year.
