Design studio - what to buy!

Hi guys, any opinions are appreciated.

I've sold some of my old mac gear, and will be getting a new system... I am thinking of a macbook, with a 20 or 24" lcd or possibly a refurb mac pro.

or!

am I better buying a 20" imac ? The ability to bring the laptop around with me is nice, but am i getting less for my money? how would a macbook compare against a mb pro for graphic design work ?
