I'm considering getting a new iMac when they become available for order at the end of the week. One thing I have been thinking about is how big a desk I am going to need. I currently have a 100x50cm desk which is perfect for my old 13inch macbook pro. But 50 cm too little depth for iMac, magic keyboard, my upper arms right? Is the monitor going to be too close to my eyes as well?

For people who think it is, what minimum depth (width?) would you think is ok? Me and my girlfriend are home working so I can't buy too big a desk.

I would never go real small. My friend who is a office organizer says you always want a desk that is able to hold the computer, keyboard, mouse, and several books, and paper. His ideal size is 24 inches deep, and 36 inch wide. But most important is a sturdy, well built desk.

The new iMac has just a depth of 14,3cm in total, so I think your current desk will work just fine.

This is very similar to my desk. Copy and paste and search for it on Amazon. It's a new version of mine. I have had mine for 16 years.
