Desk Ideas * Please*

I will be running one 17" crt monitor, and one 21.5" lcd monitor. I was wondering will this: (FREDRIK)

Or would this make more sense: Would it give me more room? (Galant, SUMMERA)

* As I dont have a local Ikea store i was wondering could I use the second option, and get a lumber store to cut me a piece of wood, that could screw onto the legs?
* Or one in the province*

My desk is more like option #1 but with drawers on the right side. I love the storage I get with the shelfs above.

With a CRT and a LCD i would pick the one that offers the most surface area space. With two monitors a small work area will be a pain in the butt.
