Hello, everyone!

My name's Matthias, I'm the developer behind Yoink, ScreenFloat, Transloader, Tameno and more!

I've recently developed a new app in response to a reddit user looking for such functionality: DeskMat.

DeskMat Icon.png

With DeskMat, you cover your Desktop with the click of a button – for nicer streams, cleaner video conferencing, screen sharing, and distraction-free work!

It hides your files, folders and widgets on your Desktop by placing a cover over them - either your current desktop wallpaper (can even be shuffling or live/dynamic), a static color, a custom image, or blurred.
There are Triggers to activate DeskMat automatically - when launching specified apps, or bringing them to the foreground, and it works in tandem with your Focus modes!

There's a free, 28-day trial on the website, and it's a one-time lifetime purchase of USD 3.99 / GBP 3.99 / EUR 3,99.

Website + Trial + Direct Purchase: https://eternalstorms.at/DeskMat
Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/deskmat/id6742498342?mt=12

Enjoy : )

Isolator is free and at the click of a button turns your screen to black, leaving your foremost app the only thing visible.
Based on this note on https://www.willmore.eu/software/isolator/, it doesn’t look like Isolator is a good solution:

“Note: The methods that Isolator uses have not been ported by Apple for 64-bit applications. Since mac OS Catalina only supports 64-bit applications, Isolator will no longer work. A complete rewrite would be needed, and may not even be possible. Sorry!”

I really like Matthias’s software, and DeskMat looks like another fine app from him.

Ahh, thanks for that info, I did not know - still on Mojave.
