Desktop icon shortcut format

How do I create an icon shortcut that is not saved as a Web Archive? Most of my shortcut icons are not current when I click on them. I have to reload to get the current webpage. BTW, all my shortcuts are in a folder on my Dock. Any ideas? MC

So you want a bookmark of some website on your desktop or dock, is that right?

If that is so, just drag the little icon on the left (it's changing due to the website, or might be a blue ball) of the web address to your desktop.

Thanks, for the help. All these years I was saving websites the hard way. I am now finally going to get all my icons corrected🙂 MC
