I wasnt able to find much info regarding whether the desktop magic keyboard 2 uses a butterfly mechanism or a scissor one?

It's a scissor switch mechanism.

Btw it's called just the Magic Keyboard. I hate the fact that they introduced the iPad Magic Keyboard with the same product name, as if the keyboard product names were not confusing enough already.

I love my 1G Apple BT keyboard (before they started calling it “magic”) but I want a new one that matches my space grey mini. Aside from my gripe that you can’t get a keypad-less, beautifully svelte version, can you confirm not only that it’s the scissors mech but that key feel & travel are similar to the first edition that made them so loved?

Thanks!
