I am looking at finally purchasing a new computer. I am working, or atleast trying to work..and use my powerbook g4 400.
I am now back into IT work, and need a powerful desktop, yet I don't want to purchase the Powermac G5 tower when new revisions with the Intel chip could be coming up..
Does anyone have any incling of when this could be? Macworld June/July..or sometime?

Or isn't the Intel chip being moved to the tower yet? I have been out of the loop!

Cheers

Well the only definite answer is that there will be an Intel PowerMac by the end of the year. Anything else is speculation. However if Intels production schedule is anything to go by we could be seeing an Intel PowerMac (MacPro) in the next 1-3 months. :)

July seems like a good guess although remember that it usually takes Apple a little while to actually ship brand new revolutionised products so maybe look at an iMac as an interim if you're really desperate. :)

I agree, 1-3 months seems a likely timeframe for Apple to release the Mac Pro.

Thanks guys!
