Desktop Texting App

As a former droid user, I got addicted to the app Mighty Text, where I could text from any computer and it was sent thru my phone. It accessed my entire contact list. I'm looking for a similar app for my IPhone, but keep finding ones that don't really work the way I want them to. Can someone recommend one that works?

Make a google voice account.
Use skype.
Use messages if you have a mac and your contacts have iPhones.
