Just got my new Macbook Pro yesterday. Mountain lion. Brand new to macs. In the process of setting everything up and trying to use one of my photos as my wallpaper. I have scanned a 5x7 photo in and was able to set that as my wallpaper but cant figure out how to make it fill the screen. It appears as a 5x7 pic with white all aroung it, just ugly looking like that. I have changed it to fit screen or even stretch to fit screen on the setup page. Neither do much to change the fact that there is sooo much white around the pic on wallpaper.

I have done this many times on a pc and recently on my ipad, never had the photo I selected not fill the page for wallpaper.

Is this possible and if so, could someone list the steps so a dummie can understand. Thank you.

I did try that. It makes it a fraction bigger but basically still looks 5 x 7 with about 5" of white surrounding it.
