Detecting keyboard layout in Mac OS X 10.4

    I believe on 10.5 and 10.6 you should be using Text Input Source Services, which is a newer API. If you look at the bottom of that page there are notifications that get posted when the layout changes.

    I don't have an answer for why it's not working on 10.4, but why do you want/need 10.4 compatibility?

    Too many iBooks still working with the old&good Tiger.... ;)

    The code works perfectly in 10.5/10.6 using Text Input Services, however there are no TIS in 10.4....
