Hi everyone,

I’m the developer of BeyondDisplay, a macOS app that lets you use another Mac on the same local network as an extended display.

I built it for people who have an extra MacBook or iMac but do not want to purchase another monitor or connect additional display cables.

Install BeyondDisplay on both Macs, connect them to the same network, and select the available Mac from the menu bar. The second Mac then becomes an extended screen for your main Mac.

Key features:

  • Wireless extended display over a local network
  • Automatic discovery of nearby Macs
  • Native macOS menu bar interface
  • Support for different display resolutions
  • No additional display hardware required
BeyondDisplay currently requires macOS 13 or later.

Website and download:

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially about performance on different Mac models and Wi-Fi environments.

Disclosure: I’m the developer of BeyondDisplay.
