Undoubtedly, someone has thought of making a new app for Mavericks, me included. That's why i've put together some resources to start programming for Mavericks here!
  1. Above all, you must persist. You aren't vibe-coding an extension for Safari 27, you are making apps for a 13 year old operating system, it's not without it's problems.
  2. Xcode, Apple's own proprietary IDE made specifically for building OS X and iOS (6 & 7) apps
    1. Do not use 6.2, it may be tempting, but it is built for the redesign that came with Yosemite, it offers no real advantage except for swift, which is useless because SwiftUI is not present on Mavericks. It also has problems with certain frameworks.
    2. Use Xcode 5.1.1, located here. It was made with Mavericks in mind, works with Wowfunhappy's WebKit back port, and is what was used to build applications when Mavericks was still mainstream.
  3. A .docset viewer, used to read the OS X docs located on here, the only real option is Dash which is a paid application, but is reasonably usable in it's unpaid state.
  4. Claude. It will hold your hand as you jump from teetering rock to teetering rock, until you reach a final project. Even sonnet 4.6 and 5 both work great when it comes to development.
With that being said, this isn't easy, but persist, because it's worth it.
