I have a developer's license and my development certificate is installed. I have an app already selling in the app store. I did all my testing in the Simulator. Now I want to test in my iPod touch.

I have the device info entered in the online program portal.

I hooked up the iPod touch device to my Mac Mini. When I opened Xcode > Window > Organizer, it said, "This device is not currently connected."

How do I get the program to recognize my device?

    Thanks!

I tried it both ways while the device was connected. The message remains the same.

    Thanks,

you are supposed to restart it while the device is not connected, and you should restart xcode as well. This should work for sure

    I unconnected it,
    restarted it,
    restarted the Mac,
    opened Xcode,
    plugged in the device.

Still no acknowledgment of connection. Strange.

    Thanks,
    Steve H

It is not jailbroken. Also, I got it only a few months ago when the new version came out.

What is supposed to happen on-screen when you plug in your iPhone or iPod touch? I know that when I plug in a thumb drive, a drive icon appears on the desktop.

    Thanks,
    Steve H

OK, I figured out the problem. I have been using a Belkin charge cord bought from Fry's. I use it at work (with the Mac mini) and the original Apple cord at home. I brought the Apple cord from home, plugged it into my iPod and into the Mac, and it worked! I can now see my work on my iPod touch.

    Use the Apple cord!
