I'd really appreciate if a dev could submit this to Apple beta feedback page, it's the best way to get them to notice it.

    • iMessage - Needs an ability to share location(Map) like with WhatsApp - Would be great if we could send a location and then the receiver could start routing/navigating right from iMessage.

    • Weather in the lockscreen, near the clock.

    • Calendar now shows events in Notification Center/Lockscreen, however we need a "lookahead" configuration of 24H, 3d, week, month.

    • Calendar event badges on calendar(with a configurable look-ahead, show events for the next 7 days, 14 days, etc..)

    • SBSettings(Quick switches) in Notification Center - Wifi, bluetooth, airplane, cellular data, 3G, and maybe multitasking bar in Notification Center

    • Integrate Spotlight search into notification center - put it on top(above stocks) - It's the perfect place for Search, easily and quickly accessible from anywhere, if they integrate it into Notification Center maybe people might start using it finally.

    • Camera app needs Timer setting

    • Contacts birthdays in Calendar - Show how old is person is turning into

    • Being able to view file information in photos (say date of taking etc)

    • YouTube continuous playlist play

    • Delivery notification for normal SMS messages
    • Snooze time configuration option for alarm, (amount of snoozes, time in between)

    • Quickly dismiss notification banners by swiping either left and right on them.

    Thank You!

With the 2nd beta, I doubt Apple is looking to add features, like you suggest. It's probably just bug fixes from here until the gold master.

Some functions would be easily implemented and some are basically fixes like lookahead period for the calendar events in Notification Center.

I hope they'll add least several of these.

the location function isn't in the beta yet, but apple is advertising it on their website

"With iMessage, we’ve created a new messaging service for all iOS 5 users. You can send unlimited text messages via Wi-Fi or 3G from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to anyone with one of those devices. iMessage is built into the Messages app, so you can send text, photos, videos, locations, and contacts. Keep everyone in the loop with group messaging. Track your messages with delivery receipts and optional read receipts, see when someone’s typing, and enjoy secure encryption for text messages. Even start a conversation on one of your iOS devices and pick up where you left off on another."

You don't need to be a dev to provide general feedback. That said, asking devs to file bugs which are more feature requests than bugs is kinda sketchy when the feedback form is more appropriate. A lot of the stuff you list simply isn't happening in the September timeframe, knowing how larger companies have to align schedules to make dates. They aren't going to let developers risk destabilizing the OS more than it already is 2 months out from release.

And a badge for upcoming events for the calendar can/will cause confusion since the badge is already used for the number of waiting invites. I'd rather leave the upcoming stuff on the lock screen or notification center.

You can do that now, you just share the location. You can send it via email or mms (which would get auto converted to iMessage before being sent).

exactly, all of his requests are features, not bugs, so really pointless to convince a dev to submit these in the beta feedback
