iPhone DFU for non-bricked iPhone

Does using DFU mode do anything that a normal restore can’t? I have a few issues that haven’t been fixed by a clean install of iOS, and was thinking about using DFU mode. Would that be overkill?

DFU should be like a clean install on Win, but could be another legend. Doesn't hurt to try though.

I've found that a restore using iTunes and then setup as new without using a backup has the same result...

I DFU restore my iPhones and iPads every year when the new iOS is released. Then set up as new, rather than rebuilding from a backup. I never have any major issues, and if there is a small software problem it’s generally sorted by Apple in the next bug fix. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I do feel running a clean system at least minimises the chance of getting issues.
