DFU mode IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

Sorry for the screaming but the problem is i had a jailbroken iPhone 4 in 4.1 and was forced to upgrade due to something that occurred. Now I'am reading instructions on how to downgrade and i need to put my iphone in dfu mode which is impossible!!! I have to turn it of and hold the home+sleep/wake button but as soon as i press them it turns on the apple logo and if it held longer kicks me to recovery. So can someone please help me here i really want my jailbreak back.

You're trying to put your iphone 4 in DFU mode or jailbroken DFU?
I know pwnage, limerain and greenpoison have on screen instruction on what to press and the timing is built in.

DFU mode is dependent on timing. The more frustrated you get, the harder it will be for you to get the black screen.
