Hello guys. I have an ipad with a broken sleep button. I jb the 3.2.1 version with the jailbreakme.com way. Now i want to upgrade and jb the new 4.2.1 version but i need to get the ioad in DFU mode. Is there a way to do it without using the sleep button?
Thanks

I could be wrong but one of the last few versions of redsn0w added the function to put the device in DFU mode to restore to a pwned firmware. I only used it once, so I'm not 100% sure, but it might not require use of the home button..

Anyone else have any input?

Its not the warranty, its the price to repair it. It will cost around 300-400 dollars

If you broke it by dropping it or hitting it, them yes, if the bottom broke with no marking of damage, just stop working of felt off them it will be cover by Apple care (include with all the products for 1 year), you just take it to the Apple store (or call customer service), they will fix it if the can, if not they will give you a replacement.

sounds like he is scared of rejection. Just bring it to apple and tell them it's broke! They will tell you your options. It may work in your favor, may not. At least you will know if they will replace it or how much to fix it. Living with it like that is crap. I wouldn't deal with it. I'm about 90% sure they will help you out if you are honest with them. Apple more times than not has AMAZING customer service. They want to keep you buying their products...and apps!

guys the question was about DFU mode without the sleep button. Not about apple customer care.
Thanks

I already answered that, customer care is just another option (and you only one if your sleep button is really busted), but with that actitud make sure to come back here some for more help!!!!
