dfu mode working

I just upgraded to 10.5.6 on my macbook and put my iphone into DFU mode. Oddly, it worked just fine..

Anybody know why it is working for me and nobody else? I am not using a usb hub.

I am using:

MacBook 2.0 ghz Core 2 Duo
iPhone 2G 8gb

you have a unibody macbook and you hadn't previously jailbroken your iphone, correct?

Are you connected to an external keyboard, display, USB hub? and are you sure you were DFU mode (Blank/Black screen) or recovery mode (USB Cable/iTunes logo)

I'm certain that it was dfu mode (screen not turned on.)

I am using the usb ports directly on the macbook.

This is strange....
