Hi all
My mother-in-law is saying that her friends use some type of app to detect/monitor diabetes on their iphones. Is this for real? This perhaps would have been a great Apple highlight in a previous keynote but don't remember this being called out.

When I do a search on the App Store, I see several apps for managing diabetes but what about detection? I see a few about detection but how legit are the results?

I would have thought this was more an Apple Watch thing but even then, not aware detection is something offered. Can anyone please clarify this or is this an urban myth? thanks.

I have used Diabetes Pilot for several years. It is not a detection app but its great for tracking your glucose readings. My doctor loves the reports it produces.

Thank you - ok yes so there are sensors and additional hardware that needs to be purchased. Makes sense. Was told this could somehow be done just through the phones camera which obviously is incorrect. She saw something which someone can “scan the arm” which is clearly someone tapping on the sensor via NFC. Now makes sense. Thank you!
