    Help me out here...

Super excited about D3 even though it's been years since I played D2. I also don't game much anymore. My late 2008 13" MBP just isn't gonna cut it and I've been wanting to upgrade my hardware anyways.

Question: do I grab a new 15" MBP (or a cheap end of life high end configured 15" MBP) or wait until the iMacs come out in June, or whenever they really launch?

Performance wise I'd imagine that the iMac could pump out the same performance for a lot less money, have a larger HDD, bigger screen, etc...

This machine will be used at home for fun and occasional remote access to my work machine.

    Go :D

I think it is better to wait for the new iMacs to be released. I have been working on one for a year now and I never regretted choosing this one over a macbook. Buying a macbook pro with the same specs as my iMac would be like $2500 or something like that. But if you want to be portable, which you don't really want, as far as I can see, buying a pro is better.

what makes you think your 13" isn't gonna cut it? '08 should still have a real video card. Chances are you'll be fine.

I would wait till a week or so from the release date to see if the new iMac is announced. If there not announced by then, i'd get a iMac. I have the base model 2011 21.5" and it runs the d3 beta just fine.

I used to have a asus gaming laptop, I don't think i'd ever get another laptop for gaming again. But everyones preference is different.

Mine can barely run TF2 and CS:Source on low. I see other players, but it's running at like 5-15FPS. Pretty crappy game experience. The 9400M integrated chip also isn't a supported card according to Blizz's website.

You must not be using the 9600 discrete GPU then. Trying turning graphic performance to highest in energy saver preference pane. You'll have to log out/in to switch GPUs.

The Late 2008 and Mid-2009 13" MBP's only had the integrated GeForce 9400m, the 15" (except one model) and 17" MBP's have the dedicated GeForce 9600m.

I tried running the Diablo III beta on the 9400m and it was a miserable experience.
