Damn! Daaaamn!! Is this a dream? the game of my dream is having an announced release date?!! Ouuu yeaaah.

I just still doubt where should I play it? Will the Mac version going to have the same PQ as Windows? Yeah Diablo is one of a few dedicated game for OSX, but should I worry if there are some difference? :(

Supported Graphics Card List ordered by performance.

320m is not listed; however, Intel's HD Graphics 3000 is an equivalent is supported as Low Performance.

I was in the Beta invite and had it installed on my Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2010, it has the Geforce 320M, with 8gb of ram, Diablo 3 ran very well, I had adjusted the detail down, ground clutter, along with the physics but it ran very well I thought and the laptop didn't get very hot at all, which I was surprised) Running on the laptop screen (1280x800)

So stoked for this game to come out! Only thing I am bummed about is I have the collectors edition pre-ordered but will not be able to play it until it is delivered. I almost want to cancel my order just so I can pre-download it now and play day of release!

They should send a pre-download key to people who at least have the collectors edition come on!

So excited! Been playing the Beta for a while, I must saying killing the skeleton king is starting to get a bit old.

From looking at the minimum requirements, it looks like I could play D3 on low. This is scary, because that game is a major time hog and I'm the type who liked to explore the diablo landscape. Decisions, decisions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "PQ". It's the exact same game. Hybrid disc, which means you will get PC and Mac versions on the disc. You may get slightly better performance in Windows, but that's true with just about any game.

Where did you preorder? Amazon does release-day delivery.

I meant PQ = picture quality, or simply .. graphics performance. Sorry for confusion. I understand though that Diablo III will be packaged as "Universal" disc for Mac and Windows like any other Blizzard games. All I concerned was whether the Diablo III for Mac could look just as good as on Windows.

While I have Bootcamp on my Mac, and I think my spec is more than enough to run it on high settings, I'd rather run it under OSX. Well but you may be right, it'll look just slightly better on Windows like any other hybrid games. Too bad :(

We'll see that on May though.

It looks the same, but you will probably squeeze a few more FPSs in Windows. Diablo III isn't exactly a graphics powerhouse, though. You'll be fine.

Diablo 3 will be my first proper foray into the Diablo franchise. Looking forward to it immensely. Glad they still support the Mac, despite me having moved to PC.

I suppose I'm lucky. My wife is also eagerly waiting for this game to come out. The only problem will be who gets to play the game when we have it.

Sounds like someone is going to get a second computer. My wife hated me playing WoW I don't think she will enjoy me playing this game either.

That 7.6GB download was beefy! Surely there can't be much more left to download on release day.

After looking at the system requirements, it looks like I have several able-bodied computers which will be able to play the game. So, that shouldn't be an issue, fortunately.

Super Excited about this. I feel like I should represent clan Mac by installing this on my Mac, rather than my PC. I'm sure it will run nicely on it.

Diablo III is a game I pre-ordered on Amazon a year and a half ago. Sad, but true. Can't wait!

Blizzard has always been great for both sides. Both clients run almost exactly the same because they care for both just as much. I actually got better fps when playing WoW on OSX than I did on the Windows side.

(Added bonus for OSX in WoW was we got screen recorder built right in.)

System Requirements

  • Mac® OS X 10.6.8, 10.7.x or newer
  • Intel® Core 2 Duo
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT or ATI Radeon™ HD 2600 or better
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 12 GB available HD space
  • DVD-ROM (required for retail disc versions only)
  • Broadband* Internet connection
  • 1024x768 minimum resolution

My Mac mini 2010 has an nVidia 320M... since I switched to Mac I stopped following the GPU upgrade treadmill, can anyone confirm that the 320m will be supported? I don't plan on playing in 1920x1080 either, probably 1280x1024 most of the time.

320m > 8600gt
