    Hi all,
when i installed El Capitan last year on my Macbook Pro i switched on as usual the option to "Send Diagnostic and Usage Data to Apple" and "Share Crash Data with App Developers".
With New Year i found that these options were disabled but i didn't change anything, OS X disabled them without permission or password request... So I reinitialized my Macbook ( clean install of 10.11.2 ), i didn't copy any Time Machine Backup so the system is clean. Today after exactly 7 days ( i can see that awdd diagnostic system logs in console were collected for 7 days ) i checked this options and i found them disabled again... The system is clean, no 3rd party software installed ( only Pages, Numbers, Keynote ).

    Can anybody check it ?
i think that it is not so safe because to disable this option you need to insert administrator password...

I have a 2014 Retina iMac and 2015 12" Retina Mac Book. I checked both blocks when I upgraded to El Capitan (when it was released) and I just checked and both have both blocks still checked (and greyed out, showing that you still have to have Admin Rights to change).

I am wondering if it is a bug in OS X El Capitan. Today after updating my Macbook to 10.11.3, it asks if you want to send diagnostics to Apple and to App developers. I thought that it was weird that it was asking if I wanted to send them because it asked when I first updated to El Capitan. Usually it only asks after a major update and not a point release/update. Try upgrading to OS X 10.11.3, which came out today and see if your selection/preferences stay after a few days.

It asks at every update, but not if you install a Beta update, then it is activated by default.

I don't even remember it asking me after installing 10.11.2 when it came out. For me it seems like it doesn't ask every time but I could be wrong. I would recommend that you update to 10.11.3 and select to send if you want to send and see if your preferences save. It seems really weird that they would change on their own which makes me think that it could be a bug and hopefully it is fixed.
