Diagnostic software

Is there any software i can run on my mac to see if there are any hardware or software problems? I have put up a couple of other threads of odd goings on, but i can't find any causes. Has anyone got any suggestions?

There are tools on the Disk 1 of your restore DVD. Put it in and boot from it (the instructions are on the disk i believe).

Verify/Repair permissions can fix a lot too! (run from that disk also)

Memtest is also another program that tests, well, RAM. http://www.memtestosx.org/ Costs about a $1.50 to download.
