Has anyone else seen this? After a carrier update yesterday my phone was unable to call people on my favorites list, either through the favorites on the phone app or Siri. It just made a repeating tone and said “dial assist” on the screen. Typing out the number worked just fine, and there is no issue with the contacts themselves.

Maybe related: texts are saying “Maybe: (Contact Name)” in Messages.

It's probably because you are updating settings on your fancy Cartier watch when you should be tinkering with your iPhone!

Ok now that that is out of the way, Have you tried a hard restart yet?

That was one of the first things I tried. My solution was simply to disable dial assist, which seems to have done the trick aside from the odd Messages glitch.

But yeah, hard reset did nothing for me.

Curious -- what carrier do you have? I recently got a Verizon carrier update but I can call favorites (same for my wife).

Hah, I had a puzzled look for the longest time at the second response.... then saw the thread title. LOL!

Oh dang that's crazy... hard reset and still not working. I wonder if one can redownload those carrier settings?
