Dictation sends info to Apple servers

When you use Siri, the things you say will be recorded and sent to Apple to process your requests. Your device will also send Apple other information, such as your first name and nickname; the names, nicknames, and relationship with you (e.g., “my dad”) of your address book contacts; and song names in your collection (collectively, your “User Data”). All of this data is used to help Siri understand you better and recognize what you say. It is not linked to other data that Apple may have from your use of other Apple services. By using Siri, you agree and consent to Apple’s and its subsidiaries’ and agents’ transmission, collection, maintenance, processing, and use of this information, including your voice input and User Data, to provide and improve Siri and other Apple products and services.

I say just replace the iPad with an Etch-a-Sketch. They are extremely secure.

That's exactly how it works for me...awful. Useless. I have to go back and fix everything I spoke. Maybe mine is faulty?

That must be a fancy Etch-a-Sketch if it can do voice dictation and draw.

1). I'm a 'she'
2). I did read it but many do not. Many people now understand that Siri does this but the dictation on the iPad was specifically billed as not being Siri.
3). I'm sure some here may find it hard to believe but there are folks who don't own an iPhone but do own iPads. I simply posted a link so the people who didn't know this can be informed.

If it doesn't apply to you or you already 'knew' it then you can disregard the post. Simple as that.

Thank you very much for posting this; I will be purchasing an iPad soon so this info does indeed help me.

Seems to work ok for me so far.
