Is this inherent? It no longer feels as spiffy as when I first bought my Mac Pro. Anytime I cross reference a word the dictionary application beach balls for 5-10 seconds looking for the definition but it was no like this from a fresh install. I would have thought a Mac Pro would be able to hand that indigestion.

Is there a plugin for Safari to accomplish the same thing?

The dictionary lag is most likely down to wikipedia part of it. To turn it off Dictionary - Preferences - Uncheck wikipedia.

In safari you can hover over a word and press cmd+ctrl+d and it will bring up the definition of the word. Works in many applications.

Wow, I learned something today.

Thank you very much, xUKHCx. This saves a lot of time but my only wish would be for the window to be larger than that little thumbnail.
