in ordering an iPhone today on the O2 website?

I started trying at 08:20 (SMS received at 08:17) right up until the webstore stated they had none left about 1/2 hr ago (14:00), literally did not leave the computer... refreshing/reloading ever minute or so.

Did anyone manage to order one who is already an O2 iPhone user?

seems most people who succeeded were new O2 iPHone customers.
 
I was unlucky as well. Been trying constantly since 9:30. I am hoping that O2 will change their mind and let us go into store to upgrade as it has been an utter disaster trying to upgrade today.
 
I was successful. No idea how, it took multiple frustrating attempts, and then round about lunchtime it just happened. The order has shown up in my o2 account, although I haven't yet had an email confirmation.
 
No joy here...... from 800 til now been trying! If they dont want my £159 then thats fine with me!

I dont see why O2 let new users pre-order today, when they have the 'privilege' of walking into a store and buying one on Friday.

They better have a change of heart about Existing users by friday or there will be a lot of unhappy people!!!!
 
Mine crashed when I clicked the final confirm order. However, the order is showing up in my account and listed as In Progress.

Not had any confirmation emails.
 
Online Hell

I tried from 8am with four different iphone numbers got as far as creating your package ONCE! kept trying till 3pm not a chance only just been informed that they are now out of stock! a disgrace and a shambles not going to get on the hype wagon now stick with iphone. Rang o2 they said you can buy in store on friday but when i informed him that you could only upgrade online he put me on hold for 5 mins then came back and said he was wrong online only. Im sick of the lack of info from both Apple and o2 im going to burn my macbook and smash up my iphone

Tried since 8:30am but without success.

Oh well, I don't *really* need 3G/GPS but July 11th is my Birthday so it would have been a nice present to myself :D
 
I had safari, firefox and flock refreshing everytime it crashed, I went through 27 upgrade codes from 11am and I finally got through.
I now have an order processing for a 16gb iPhone upgrade.

now if only I can get my other halfs order through CPW we'll be sorted.

So 5 so far... Maybe the system was actually allocating a large proportion of the available stock for online orders, but hasn't actually told these people they've actually bought them yet due to the crashing etc.
 
let's not get confused with the fallback page and the one that gets a confirmation number!

I was trying all day from 9 till it stopped working altogether and got as far as the payment page which then times out and sent me to the fallback page!

I asked o2 on the phone and they told me we can upgrade in the shop from Friday! Cpw also told me that!
 
Nope, epic fail for me. It's incredibly unfair how they all seemed to text us at different times. A colleague of mine had already ordered his and was at work 10 minutes before i received my text.
 
I was livid, i tired all day with no luck and then nearly killed someone when the "Come Back On The 10th July For More Information" showed up.
