One of the main reasons I remain jailbroken is because f.lux but now with Night Shift I'm wondering if it's worth it to just update. How does it compare to f.lux? Any other feats that might be worth ditching the jailbreak? How stable is it?

If anybody upgraded do you regret it?

I have not.

This may help you decide though…

My understanding about Nightshift is that you cannot control the warmth level or brightness, only the amount of blue light that is present in the display. Also, if your phone goes to Low Power mode then Nightshift becomes disabled.

f.lux of course remains effective in both areas.

No I freaking upgraded to 9.3 the night before 9.1 support was added I haven't had jailbreak since 8.3 and it sucks!

Almost a decade of using iOS has taught me that jailbroken *anything* is better than the latest stock version.
I just updated my iPad to 9.3.1 since Safari in 9.2 was acting buggy, I hope I don't regret it. Had I been on 9.1 I would have jailbroken and stayed there!

it's ok but it doesn't tint as dark as f.lux does with the candle option which is what i used on my 5s but it does the job. i like the new shades it gives the colors, especially the blues.

I have f.lux on my iP6 that is on iOS 8.4 and night shift on my Air 2 and the difference is night and day. It is a pity that Apple when taking the idea from the developers of f.lux didn't copy more of it and give more control.

I have also judged it with a friends 6s and again the difference is there so it is not just the difference in the Air 2 screen that makes night shift inferior to f.lux.

I did. I don't need precise control of the colour, and I don't need anything too extreme as well. But I prefer to go for 9.3 for a more smooth iOS experience (my 6+ is not smooth on 9.0.2, but much better on 9.3 regardless if it's JB or not).

TBH, my 5s is perfectly OK with 9.0.2, so I know it's the OS not well optimised for 6+. I keep my iPad and 5s jail broken, but upgrade my 6+ to 9.3.1 now for better experence.

IMO, night shift is OK only if you don't need precise setting. The range of colour temperature also much less than f.lux offered. If you really prefer a very warm colour at night time, night shift can't do that.

Also, if you turn on the power saving function, you will lost night shift. If you need both functions work together, you better stay jail broken.

But the schedule function on night shift works well. This is on par with f.lux. Also, the native control in control centre also works quite well (especially if you have the 6s).

I ditched the jailbreak on both my iPad and iPhone 6e since flux didn't work on the iPad Pro,mif was worth, I use my iPad Pro a lot to do w lot of reading at night ans nightshift mode is a god send.

I found the jail real to be unstable on both systems. So that was one reason alone to remove it. I got a good week out of jail breaking before moving to the iOS 9.3 update, best decision I made.

Would I jailnreak again? Probably not because I only did it for f.lux and dock shift and well with nightshift , I don't feel the need too.

I side load everything I need nowadays so no jb since 9.1 for me.
If you really want flex you can always side load it. Won't be exactly the same as. The Cydia one but works just as good. Idk battery life though since I find the night shift from Apple to be more than enough. Idk if the side load app works now w 9.3 though.

Yep, I got a replacement watch with the new version of watch os. and it was not compatible with my phone running old software. So I had to update the iPhone and lose my jailbreak.

That is one of the reasons I have not bought a watch. I will not give up the possibility of a JB for my current OS just to buy an Apple watch.

I'm on 8.4 jb still and have to admit I've been tempted to ditch (mostly, just wanting some ios9 features and some apps whose features require it). In the end, I know I would kick myself if I ever did ditch.

Here's to hoping there's a new stable jb in the near future.

Please don't take offence but don't be a muppet and update. I have a iP6 on 8.4 jailbroken and it runs perfectly all day everyday. I had a iP6s that was replaced so I couldn't jailbrake it and I have now sold it as I would rather use my iP6 than the 6s

The guy that bought my 6s wanted to buy my 6 when he knew it was running 8.4 and was wanting to pay just £20 less or it. He has since contacted me and asked if I would trade the 6s he bought for my 6 with £40 on top my way. Was I tempted, not for a second.

No offense taken. Like I said, I've been tempted but know I would kick myself. It's just in moments when I have random issues with performance or see something that would be better app wise. Having a jb by far outweighs those small temptations.

Kick yourself, tell me where you live and I'll call round and kick you

Seriously though what problems do you have? Have you tried running iCleaner or even run Impactor and start over again. I have done that last year and I don't have any problems. I did before but I put that down to me being new to jailbrake last year and trying loads of tweaks.

Ha will do

Sometimes as of late, I find I can't use the touch screen which lasts about a few moments or so and various app crashes. I've tried icleaner, I've uninstalled tweaks one by one though I don't use many and haven't added any in a while so I don't have a bunch of random stuff. I've had this jailbreak for over a year now without any issues until recent. Maybe it's a phone issue? I hadn't thought to use impactor so I'll give that a go tonight. Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm on 9.2.1 and was wondering if it's worth waiting. It's been so long since I've had a jailbreak. Any news on a pending JB?
