I did. It will be replacing a 2017 27” with Fusion Drive but I was running it off of an external Samsung t7. I traded a 2020 512 gb MacBook Pro with touchbar with 8gb of ram for a 24” iMac with 8 core’s straight across. It came with the box and still even had the covering to protect the screen. Everything is in immaculate condition. I didn’t want to potentially compromise on the display by getting a Mac mini, and didn’t want to spend that amount on the studio display.

I honestly couldn’t be happier with the 24” and for my light usage I suspect it will last me for years to come and especially since there was no model released last year I should get software updates for years to come.

Going from a 13" display to a 24" is an upgrade.
Folks with a 27" iMac that are waiting on an AS 27" iMac don't want to compromise by getting the 24" iMac,
if anything they want a 30" or larger iMac.

I almost did but seeing the 24" M1 iMac in person told me I wasn't ready to go that small.
I built my own 27" sort of. I bought the M1-Max (10 core/24 core) Mac Studio w/32GB and a 1GB SSD and a 27" Dell S2722 4K monitor (3840x2160). No, it's not a retina display, but it is big, sharp, landscape or portrait and bright. With the new magic TouchID keyboard and I am not missing my 2014 Retina iMac at all.

I also had a need to replace a late-2014 27” 5K iMac which is falling apart and constantly overheating at the slightest provocation. I went for an M2 Pro mini. The bigger problem was the display, I just couldn’t step down from 27” 5K after 8 years, so I got the ASD.

Nope, I will not get the new iMac or anything else and will hold on to my 27' late 2015 iMac until it dies or an OS update is so compelling that I break down, lol
