I went from a 5 to a 5s, manly so I could give the 5 to my wife, who has a 4S.

It's not always about the performance, It's about attrition, getting rid of our oldest phone before it looses all it's value and function.

Just ordered a 64GB White/Silver 5S to replace my Black 32GB 5. My 5 will go to one of my kids, and I'll be selling one of their 4Ss while it has value. This weekend I traded in a three-year-old 16GB iPhone 4 at GameStop for $151. Pretty happy with that. You don't want to hold on to them for too long...
I don't expect a night-and-day improvement in speed or function, but the extra capacity will be nice.

No, pretty much the same in real world use.

A little better in low-light. Don't care about slo-mo or burst because I have a DSLR.

Seems the same to me.

I have the 5s and the 5 and I use the both daily.
The 5s was a gift. I wasn't planning to upgrade to the 5s.

I also have access to both the 5s and the 5 and the 5s is definitely faster. Simple apps open about the same time but heavy apps open a good amount faster on the 5s. The camera opens faster and is better on the 5s. It just feels like a faster phone. If you are expecting a major difference between the 2 speed wise, you won't find it as I think the 5 is already fast but to say they are the same, then you have an issue with your 5s.

Did anyone go from the 5 to 5S?

My 5s is just fine.
I use the phone to make phone calls, to talk and interact with other people + internet.
For this basic and simple tasks, they are pretty much the same speed-wise. Of course, the 5s is half a second faster when loading Facebook or 0.20 seconds launchig the Mesaages apps.

I honestly and respectfully could careless how you got the 5s and what your opinion is.

I went from a black iPhone 5 to a gray iPhone 5S. Camera and flash are both noticeably better although performance is a tough one, mainly due to the fact of the slow animations on iOS 7. I do notice a little lag, rarely.

I am thinking of switching from 5 to 5s. Waiting to see how the accelerometer calibration discussion works out . . .

This. I agree. Unless I have a use for old phones I upgrade when I get a chance.

My iPad 1 and 2 and sold off. But I kept my iPad 3 to give to kid 1. And keeping iPad 4 to give to kid 2 when I upgrade to iPad 5.

iPhone 5 I sold off cause I didn't have need for it since I needed to use an upgrade on line that was eligible for 5 months already. Giving att money by not upgrading as soon as you can to reset the upgrade cycle.

I did.
From a white 64GB to a white 64GB:)

Love the fingerprint sensor.
Camera is better in low light and the flash makes pics look a bit more natural.
Also, I'm getting an extra hour with the battery.

I just changed from a black 5 to a white 5s today. jury is still out as regards the camera & battery life differences because I've had it for a few hours lol

touch ID seems great so far, def. faster than I expected. I'm constantly in and out of my phone so should save me some hassle.

speed I can see a little bit of a difference, not night and day or anything but it's FAST.

biggest difference to me honestly is going from black to white it seems to go better with iOS 7

So I just received my 5S (from my 5) this weekend- the only noticeable difference for me is opening the camera and the fingerprint sensor (which works really well actually and a lot better than I thought it would!).

The battery seems a TINY bit better, but nothing to write home about. In the end, def not a must have upgrade from 5 to 5S, but it is an ok one!

I also did a backup of my 5 to the 5S, so hopefully there aren't any glitches from that! I didn't want to lose my many texting threads, so didn't really have a choice to start fresh..

(yes bringing up my old thread haha)
