Did Apple ever cure the treacherous anti-reflective coating issue?

Just curious if this issue was ever addressed at the manufacturing level. I see a lot of peeling MBPs for sale on eBay, but surprisingly, people are still paying big money for them.

Newer ones you can have the whole screen replaced for free at the Apple store

I had my whole screen replaced for my 2013 rMBP because of this issue, even though it was out of AppleCare warranty. I believe the repair program for the replacements has been extended indefinitely.

yes - they completely changed the application process to address the problem
