Did Apple just lose the living room?

I bought my first game console in years, a new PS3, a few weeks ago and had no idea at the time that it could play content from my home network. It works really well and even if Apple came out with some great improvement for the ATV I wouldn't be interested now that I see what the PS3 can do.
