I just received an update for iOS 15? Build number is the same but it says this update fixes some security issues, bugs and widget issues. I didn’t get to screenshot it. Anyone else get an update for their iPhones?

Were you on beta (RC Build) before by any chance?
If so, then yes, there was a different build out since then as i remember.
I was on my iPhone 11 Pro. But now I have an iPhone 13 Pro, it seems odd, I should have taken a screenshot 🤦🏻‍♂️

I mean I have an iPhone 13 Pro, it came pre-installed but it seems Apple quietly pushed out an update just now without changing the build number 😐
iPhone 13's came with iOS 15.0 build 19A341, it's not the same build as the RC (19A344) and it's not the same as the final (launched on Sept 20, 19A346). An earlier build that was needed for producing the phones.

I guess you had the update to 19A346 like I did. Build number differs but the version number stayed the same.

Aha, noted!

Well said!

I got this update on launch day, took my build from 19A345 to 19A346. Now there appears to be a 15.0.1 update (haven’t installed it yet).
Aha, I may have received this update on launch day but I never noticed it until I went into my Settings 😅

Yesterday (October 1st) I got a notification of an update to 15.0.1, so I plugged it in to iTunes because I prefer using IPSW to update. It updated.... to the same build number. Then when finished it checked again for 15.0.1 and asked to update, so I did it again and then it did install to 15.0.1. I wonder if there was an error and 15.0.1 was initially directing to the previous build version?
