Im wondering if the Mac Ive got is Very Slightly out of the electronics pool.

I know theres El Capitan. But theres no new Macbook with hardware. I guess Ive gotta wait then. What to do when theres a problem with the CD drive missing and no way to put CDs on my computer, I dont think Ive got the space to use iTunes even though I use Mac for everything.

Are you hoping for a Mac with a built-in CD drive? Not going to happen - the last models with built-in DVD drives were the 2011s. Personally, that makes me happy. The internal drives always seemed to fail before anything else on the machine. It's cheaper to use external drives, because there's no repair cost when they fail.

You dont seem very gungho about Macs for whatever good reason! But you can buy a Mac and enjoy it. I guess you dont own a Mac already. Anyway Im excited for Macs. And so are most people.

You can connect an external bluray drive by USB, or if you have a desktop mac or windows PC, you can burrow the drive over the network through the sharing preferences. (You'll need to put on the mac DVD sharing program on windows.)

Ive never used that other computer operating system so Thats out although I wish there was a solution that didnt involve methods that probably wont work . Im not good at connecting everything to my computer when there are all those wires !

FYI the mid-2012 non-retina models have dvd. Because of their popularity, they are still sold brand new today (just bought one last week).
