Recently installed a fresh copy of OS X Yosemite and realized a few different things when opening Disk Utility.

I notice on the hard drive name (highlighted in red), it says the name of the HD rather than the total space of hd + brand of hd. Also on the bottom right, it shows that 1.12 TB is used.

When I click on the Macintosh HD below it, it shows the actual usage of my hard drive (highlighted in red)

Just wanna make sure I formatted my HD correctly before running Yosemite on my iMac.

Totally normal. Yosemite converts the disk to a core storage volume and makes it look like that in Disk Utility.
