I ordered a MBP 15" from Amazon yesterday. It shipped last night and my bank account has not been charged. Usually, amazon chharges my account before a product ships. In fact, they ALWAYS charge before shipping. Did I just get a free computer???

They charge upon shipment, and it could take up to 24 hours to reflect the charge in your bank account.

Agree with above. 99% sure you will get charged eventually, may just be working its way through the system.

Also, when. Ordered I got an email saying they were having trouble using my card. I had to enter secondary information. Sooo I'm not sure, they never ship without charging first. Strange.

Just give it a few days. They're usually not careless about taking your money ;)

One things for sure, if you don't end up paying for it I sure wouldn't recommend you post about it here. After all, Amazon is everywhere...

Take all your money out and see if they charge you a NSF.

Edit: Happened to me is why I say try it lol

School of hard knocks ;)

We see these on average ever three or 4 months.

" Did I just get it free"? Did I win the Lottery?

Maybe a $20 dollar boo boo, but a 1k +, not a freakin chance jack.

Just so you know, if you do receive it and don't pay for it, technically it's not your property yet and you can be charged with theft. Do your best to make sure it gets paid for properly, unless Amazon specifically tells you that there's a mistake and they're letting you keep the computer (and that pretty much never happens).

That's not actually true.

It's not his fault if Amazon neglects to charge him.

In some jurisdictions (the UK for example) there is a duty to return items that come into your possession by mistake. Failing to rectify could mean it is theft. There is more to it than that, and it is rather academic as I doubt Amazon would want the publicity of arresting someone for their mistake. However, technically in some countries it could happen.

Let's not turn this into another long thread on morals and ethics though. I posted the above as interesting (to me anyway!) information, not to pass judgement.

Actually, yes, it is.

Absent payment, Amazon still legally "owns" the MBP and the buyer is responsible for payment.

The buyer attempted payment in good faith when he ordered the item. If Amazon does not take the payment at that time, it is not up to the buyer to call Amazon to alert them to that.

That being said, Amazon obviously has the right to collect payment in the future if they finally notice. If he refuses to make payment at that time, Amazon could then pursue legal action.

yeah!

Sounds like "the problem with your card" will cause the computer to not show up at all ... Amazon will not send you anything more than the email they already sent ... Now what to do with the Ram?
