Back in 1999, I bought a TV from Amazon and they had incorrectly priced the item, it was a $1000 TV and they were selling it for $100. I placed the order, and it said it shipped, but they never charged my card... Low and behold, the item never showed up, and when I contacted Amazon they said that the item had been placed on their site in error, and they reserved the right to pull back pricing mistakes. They told me my card had not been charged, and then apologized to me for the inconvenience and gave me a $50 gift card.... Awesome customer service if you ask me.
I highly doubt your laptop will show up if payment doesn't clear... Either that, or your bank is making a huge mistake, showing you funds that you don't have.
I've heard of banks failing to put a hold on the account... It's possible your bank immediately released the hold by mistake, but once Amazon's merchant account settles with your bank the amount will be deducted.
Nothing in life is free, especially not a 1000+ laptop. BTW, you better keep the money in your account. Otherwise you could be charged over draft fees once it finally clears.. Or if you used a credit card then you could be charged over limit fees if you no longer have enough available credit.
