    Was debating this vs a new retina laptop 100 more for same ram but 4gen i5 is it worth it?

    I would own any OTHER apple computer over the 2012 13R.

    2013 is night an day.

    It's not. We have both in our house...2013 is slightly better but not leaps and bounds better.

    It impacts people playing games, running some apps like Photoshop. Also consider the overhead needed to drives retina display, the faster GPU will be a better choice imo

    Agrees..better is always better...but it's not like the 4000 is useless...And for many users who can find one at a discount it's a good choice

    No the 2012 Rambo is a nice computer :). And I wasn't trying to be Debbie downer on the OP but the newer rmbp has better features

    if you are a hardcore gamer, hardcore artist, hardcore video editor, and not an average user then dGPU like nVidia 650m is the best than iGPU like Intel Iris. :apple:

    Definitely get the 4th gen i5 one, that one has at least an hour more battery life :)
