Got a basically brand new unlocked 128gb cellular/wifi ipad pro gold for only 700$ . Have receipt for it showing fully paid off and it came with original box, manuals and accessories? Did I get a steal?

Not validation , I didn't check what they were going for on ebay or amazon so maybe the used market for the ipad pro has gone down now a few months after release and the hype has died down. And I got it on craigslist

NO... The going market for those is 600 maybe 650....

I knew they weren't that low because Apple stuff doesn't depreciate that quickly but when I saw this one listed for 800$ and was able to get him down to 700$ I knew that a 1079$ pre tax iPad pro for 700$ must of been a great deal.

Soooo was it brand new with the plastic wrap all sealed, or open box but in like new condition?

I would never buy an apple device on craigs list. I would be afraid 2 weeks later they would use icloud to lock it out then i would have a useless piece of metal.

I thought as long as the previous owner's icloud is signed out, and you are able to sign in with your own ID that it can't be locked by the previous user?

that's why you check that there is no account signed into iCloud before you buy

Target had a 15% off all electronics on Black Friday, including the iPad Pro, which comes to about $917. If you had a Discover card, you'd get 22% cash back, which comes to about $841.

So I'd say a used $700 iPad Pro 128GB Cellular is a decent, but not an earth shattering deal. "Basically brand new" is rather vague, and probably implies it is at least 2 weeks+ old, or the owner would have just returned it to the Apple Store.

Is it still eligible for AppleCare+? To me this is a must for such an expensive iPad. $99 + $49 deductible for any kind of damage is a no-brainer.

That's an excellent deal I'm not sure what these other members are smoking. Most likely just a bunch of people hating.

Depending on where you live you calculate in tax...

Yea I figured as much. And that discover/Black Friday deal is a once a year opportunity. This was prchased 2 days before xmas and I can still add regular AppleCare. It's as good as new. Including tax I saved almost 500$ off retail

What is your tax rate?

I don't think it's hating. I think you know you got a good deal, but instead of starting the thread stating that as fact, you posed it as a largely rhetorical question with an obvious answer. What are people supposed to say to that? But congratulations on getting a weeks old iDevice at a pretty good discount and enjoy your IPP.

To be fair, that was then. This is now. If the iPad is "legit," it's a great deal.

I'm not exactly sure what's the point of this entire thread then. The OP seems familiar with the details of the deals on the iPad Pro last year, so it looks like it's just a "feel good thread". It doesn't actually add anything of value to the community as far as I can tell.
[doublepost=1452688751][/doublepost].... yes I meant 22% off getting it at the Apple Store via Apple Pay. Either way, this thread would be a lot more useful if it was a deal that others could also get on. Oh well....

It isn't a "feel good" thread. I was curios to know what others had paid for an ipad pro either used or new through a sale or what not. You see my forum join date? Ive been browsing and contributing to these forums long before you probably even owned your first mac. I knew I had gotten a "good deal" based on the simple fact that it was almost $500 under retail, but that wasn't the question, it was whether it was a "great deal" based on what others may have paid for similar used ones etc.
